Re: Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, whispering, 'It will be happier.'
Zap had smiled back proudly at Nate in their quiet moment before Thor arrived, and felt a bit giddy at the anticipation. She felt like a tired parent on Christmas morning who was about to see happy faces and it would all be worth it...
Thor's entrance didn't disappoint - "Yes sir," she'd agreed, rolling away from Nate to the far side of the bed, where her belly was met with Thor's cheek and ear. Her hand rested on his head and in the few moments they waited, she met her dark eyes to Thor's light ones and felt a contented buzz of electricity between the two deities that neither was solely responsible for.
"She's a fighter." Eva laughed a little and pulled her legs up toward her middle, partially to sooth the kicking by hugging the baby with her body. "She's in the right family," Zap confirmed, then smiled softly at her husband. "I love you," then her eyes widened at his probably-joke: "...unacceptable." Blink. "Didn't even invite me." She grinned, gradually, and glanced back to Nate finally. "I didn't invite him, either," she shared with Thor and shot Caltrops a wink. "You people just show up," she accused.
Once Thor had decided the nap was continuing and was in place, Zap's body relaxed and she laid once again in the middle of the bed, facing Nate. Intruding? Smirk. "Apparently the Allfather's bed is fair game for napping in our family." She couldn't think of a single family member who hadn't appeared at some point to- Loki. Nevermind. The queen's hand took Nate's fingers and she held him against her chest, letting him feel her heart. "I'm not sure if all three of us have been asleep at the same time before," she yawned, though she seriously doubted any further real sleep was in her future. Another kick. Nope, no sleep. "...And we never will."
Eva leaned forward, kissed Nate's lips, then turned and kissed Thor's nose, laughed, and did a retake with better aim. Lips: nailed it. Nate was then knocked upside the head with a pillow so that his dark hair covered his surprised (probably annoyed) face. Thor's presence always brought out her playful side, and publicly, Nate always dealt with it in stride (like when they danced together goofily like no one was watching even though most of the kingdom might've been watching). He was a trooper.
