Re: Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, whispering, 'It will be happier.'
The God of Thunder always responded to Eva's mental pings with haste, but when she'd included the telepathic notion about the baby, Thor doubled his time. He entered their shared bed chamber and several things immediately became clear: Nate was there and they were having afternoon naps without him. Rude. Thor bounded, semi-quietly, up the steps to Eva's bedside and noticed Nate's hand against her belly. That plus the look of blind admiration in the darker man's eyes told the king everything he needed to know. "C'mere," he vaguely instructed and dropped to one knee on Eva's side of the bed. He bent over and laid his cheek against Zap's side. "Let daddy feel... ooop," Thor got his wish immediately when he was promptly kicked in the face. "She's a fighter," he proclaimed with absolutely no knowledge of anything except that he'd felt her and he loved her.
After a few more tremors, the movement slowed down and Thor raised his head from Eva's belly. "I love you," he told his wife with both pride and warmth in his voice. "But this is unacceptable," his hand passed over the bed, over Eva's and Nate's lounging bodies. "Didn't even invite me," Thor feigned annoyance, then entered the bed behind his wife. He lovingly took his position of big spoon and buried his face into her hair, before coming up for air to speak. "I hope I'm not intruding," he added as a jest toward them both.
