Re: Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, whispering, 'It will be happier.'
Solve the issue? "Mmhmm," Eva answered, trying her best to sound sure. She was, she just hoped Nate would be too. If he wasn't, they could find a new route to take. This wasn't something to accept lightly or out of guilt or obligation. Which god or goddess? She smiled (maybe wickedly) before her face rose back up to look Nate in the eyes. "The God of Shadow." A counterpart to the God of Light.
"Don't say saddle," she scolded the Iowan, "it's a gift... Job security." Zap smirked at that, then drew back slightly to see Nate's expression(s) in the dim light. "You would be a king." That should've clarified for him that she was speaking of Nathaniel Zale and not some other Shadowman. "I would be your queen," in whatever sense of the word he wanted to consider. "Brayden could stay at my side, or with his mother, you don't have to worry about that." Her hands came up to the sides of Nate's face and she smoothed back the hair that had fall across his forehead, then back over his ears, where her fingers fiddled idly. "You'd have whatever resources you'd need..."
