Re: I'll keep all my emotions right here and then one day I'll die.
"Afraid," the singer countered with faux shock on his face. "Because ye think she's found someone better and ye're too insecure to think she'd love you and not immediately dump you for someone better..." his pretend surprise continued and he'd started to whisper. "Because ye're a troll that got a woman way out of yer league and now yer tryin' to grind her into the earth..." he ended with a ghostly howl.
"I... fuck." Conlan wanted to argue but couldn't. He just stared at the counter and hoped Lochlan wasn't right. "But..." yeah, he had nothing.
"Listen, Conny," Christ, first Conlan needed a non-demeaning nickname. Eva - not doing the Irishman any favors. "Ye want a chance with Qiana?" he teased because he knew the answer. "Fix yerself."
"What? I'm not broken..." Sentient declared almost defiantly. "I'm..." wait. Maybe he was.
"Yeah," Lochlan told his cousin. "Ye went and thought about it," he said almost as an apology. "Ya know how Morgan and Lorna are both broken and it's adorable because they love each other and through their shared affection, they can learn to love themselves?" Lochlan explained and tried not to sound jealous, it wasn't beautiful... it was, shut up. "That's not Qiana. She's not broken, she knows how wonderful she is... she doesn't need ye or any man to confirm it. She needs an equal. I hoped that could have been me since I also love myself... but again. See: lazy-a-f," the musician added with a shrug.
"God damn it," Conlan nearly seethed. "That makes sense," he pulled his fingers through his hair, annoyed that Lochlan had been the one to hit him in the face with the realization shovel. "It really does all boil down to RuPaul, doesn't it?"
"Can I get an a-men!?" Lochlan called from behind the counter and spun his damp towel over his head. "Anyway," he straightened his apron and smiled toward the Asgardian women again. "Just try to be happy..." he added with a realistically somber note.
"What?" Conlan sensed his cousin wasn't done with his knowledge drop.
"I mean..." Lochlan's mouth twisted to the side and he actually contemplated explaining further. "Qiana's that special type of girl," the once (and forever) lovestruck Lochlan said. "She'll love you, honestly and with all of her heart... but still move on if she thinks it's right for her to do so - and still love you while she does it. So ye can't even be mad," he added with admiration. "Some birds aren't meant for cages, Booger," he ended, finally.
"Thanks, great pep talk," Conlan hung his head a bit. "But I guess it's all things I needed to hear," he added with more confidence. "I would have rather talked to Kiernan," Conlan added with a smirk.
"Oh, I'd have rather you'd talked to Kiernan, too, don't worry," Lochlan confirmed. "Ye okay?" he asked and wondered if he needed to get some emergency biscuits.
"Yeah," Conlan sat up straight for the first time in a while. "I just hope I haven't fucked it up already... can ye get me some soul food to go?" A box of that certainly couldn't hurt the next time he saw Qiana.
