Re: Halt! Who are you?
The queen approached and Baldr reacted by casting a view behind his shoulder to see if she'd spoken to anyone behind him. Only then had he realized they were alone, so that was unlikely. The Prince stood from the table and greeted Eva with a soft smile of welcome. "Morning, dear sister," he'd often addressed her as such of late. "A feeling I've grown very accustomed to here," he mentioned of the excitement. Since his return, rarely a day had passed without something noteworthy occurring.
Baldr pulled the chair next to his away from the table and offered Eva a seat before he returned to his own. "Yes, um..." she'd asked for details and he felt it within his brotherly duty to supply. After a moment, Baldr realized Eva hadn't merely spoken of words. Her eyes were hungry and he smirked at his own shortsightedness, Eva had just slept for nearly a two days. He quietly slid his breakfast plate and the larger plate of breads and cheeses closer to her.
"Lady Sif has been rescued from the astral realm," which Baldr felt Eva probably already knew and had had a hand in. "She's still recovering from her injuries, last I heard, but the healers are optimistic," which was indeed good news. "The people are happy," the God of Joy reported with confidence. "And the Allfather has been joyful, if not worn a bit thin," Baldr spoke candidly. "Everytime we've crossed paths, he's been traveling to another bedside," he told her with a smile. "Yours, the wee ones, or Lady Sif's," he explained then leaned in for secret time. "Don't tell him, but I discovered him reading Prince Torben's bedtime story to you last night. I didn't correct him because he seemed to be enjoying it," he told her with a grin.
