Re: New phone, who dis?
Oh, no. His face had relayed the tale before he found the words. Sif stared, therefore, willing her old friend not to speak them out loud. Her heart ached where it sat in her throat, or at least it might as well have been. She couldn't swallow, and her face was as wet as Thor's once he'd taken her hand.
Her arm shook, but she steadied it by grasping his fingers more tightly. "We were all gone - dead to you," she gasped, feeling a momentary lapse in her own grief to give a sympathetic gaze into Thor's eyes. Her heart, now that she could feel it again, was suddenly breaking. How cruel, she thought, but even at hearing this news gave her best efforts to push through and look to the good that had been recovered. Without the Three's actions and loss, perhaps things might have been different; worse.
So, there they sat, like a couple of crybabies, holding hands and howling at the moons as they had when Loki had ruined her golden hair. Sif worked to catch her breath, to slow it down. She dare not wipe her face free of moisture, nor Thor's, but she did pull his hand to her chest and held it there before releasing him. "Take note, my heart beats stronger for their memory," her eyes glistened, and then she let out a rather unattractive exhale through her mouth.
