Re: Health is the greatest gift.
"Brayden," Brian started quietly, then his voice rose as he repeated the boy's name and after kneeling to assess his patient's current state, the doctor lifted the boy and carried him to the next closest bed. His skin was like ice, and he was more colorless than he'd been yet. Brian's hand moved to the phone at his hip and he told it to call Nate, then he called out for Thea before he remembered she'd gone to Alfheim for a visit. They'd need to call Heimdall to fetch her. "Nathaniel?" The phone was pressed between his cheek and shoulder as he walked with the boy until he was laid down. "Brayden's taken a turn for the worse and I'd like you to come to the infirmary."
By the time Nate arrived, the bag from the blood transfusion Brian had given Brayden was emptied and the doctor was cautiously switching them out, clearly alarmed. "Thank goodness," he said over his shoulder to Caltrops. "Anemia doesn't cover his diagnosis," he spoke frankly. "He's gone icy cold, vomited, and this is the second bag I've hung. I sent word to Heimdall."
