Re: The longest night of the year. "I guess I'll just have to walk you through the details."
"Lovely." Nate enjoyed a good walk through details and to be honest, Rhia's discovery wasn't a terrible distraction from the rest of his business.
"Oh yes, the transformation is complete! I'll be receiving my tiara any day now, I'm sure."
"I mean..." he understood her use of sarcasm, but she was technically a daughter of the King of Alfheim. Rhia could get a tiara...
He braced himself and the rather-on-edge Nathaniel was actually surprised by the hug. "Oh, yes." Nate added when his arms moved to comfort Wildfire... he rarely received hugs from people not named Brayden or Eva.
"Don't take it personally," Nate encouraged and eased into the embrace a bit more, before he pulled back to make sure she'd heeded his words. "If I wasn't legally required to see Brayden..." his tone remained somber but his eyes went wide to reveal the jest. "Everything has changed now..." Nate remembered his life before Asgard, before their great awakening. Magic on Earth had been worse than dial-up internet in the 90's. Now, the sorcerer was plugged into the source via fiber optic cables and he'd nearly drowned in the knowledge of it all. "But as that prolific sage of our times once said... mo' money, mo' problems." Nate quoted The Notorious B.I.G. without a hint of joviality in his expression. "Honestly, Rhia. Why..." he paused and tried to fashion his question in the most delicate way possible. German clock making level of precision. "Why can't you just enjoy the fact you're now a princess?" he'd tried and failed. "Freyr will probably con Thor into making you immortal..." he added, only slightly jealous.
