Re: We fear nights and death.
"Mmm," he said, of children. It wasn't something he spent a lot of time thinking about. He honestly couldn't tell if Rhia was surprised he'd mentioned children, or if she had begun to consider her own - pertaining to their grandfather and heredity. "I like babies," he added, for the record. Just not older children, as much. If they were his own, though... But probably not, he thought, returning Rhia's smirk.
There were the meaty bits: 'what do you know about Freyr?'. Pétr's eyebrows rose as if it were a long tale, but he could manage an abridged version for Wildheart, surely. "He and his twin sister, Freya, were once a core part of the Æsir pantheon. When Freyr proved himself in battle, and married his jötunn bride Gerðr - famously a romance for the ages, he was gifted Alfheim by Odin, which was lacking leadership at the time. He became king, and Gerðr was made a goddess. Freya chose to go with her brother, so they became a sort of off-shoot pantheon, the Vanir. There were a few petty squabbles," his opinion, "but since the Vanir have fallen back in line and are under the protection of Asgard again." Sidetracked. Of course. The redhead cleared his throat and refocused. "Freyr had one child, Fjölnir, before his wife was slain. Fjölnir is the god of the harvest - his mother had been the goddess of the hearth. He would be, of course, your half-brother. He is not a partygoer, so much as your father, which is probably why he was so scarce at the wedding proper." Anyway. "Freyr spent a decade or more, earth time, traveling the realms and mourning Gerd - what Midgardians called her. Apparently, when he was on Midgard, he met your mother. When he returned, he married Skadi, who is the goddess of Winter." He almost snorted with laughter, "Ironic, right?" God of Summer... goddess of Winter. When his chuckles died down, he continued, "They have no children as of now. Skadi is also from Jötunnheimr, a giantess. You probably spied her at the wedding if you have eyes at all." Another joke from the son of Volstagg - nailed it. "As for his personality... I feel as if it speaks for itself. He truly is good. Unless he's angry." Apparently much like Thor's Dr. Banner. "I would stress... lots of the pantheon have had children with Midgardians, and rarely do they look back. I've known a demi-goddess to give birth to a half-human child and return it to Earth. I do not mean to say the practice is acceptable, by any means. It is the norm, though. As well as with Greek pantheons..." But the Greeks were the worst.
