Re: Bringing those new musings... "I can go, I'm the queen of it now, technically. I should probably see for myself. I don't have to go alone, of course..."
Well, now they were just living in a world of make believe - where the ground was made of chocolate and the clouds were cotton candy. Nathaniel Zale stared back at his queen, blankly and allowed her to finish her thoughts.
"Fascinating." Nate allowed the possible revelation and her brilliant insight to waft over him, because the warlock had never considered the idea in this situation. "Perhaps..." He trailed off and his fingers even stroked his beard, because his mind was much too engaged to avoid common tropes. "Stealing the memories, storing them, would be much simpler than destroying them entirely." Caltrops stood, the excitement of this new potential explanation was too intense for a laid-back posture.
The human gargoyle returned to well-worn pace trail he'd already created in Eva's private chambers. "Regardless..." he began and his hand waved dismissively in the air. "You cannot be the first to travel to Helheim," Nate informed the woman he'd vowed to protect. "I believe you're familiar with the practice of having a canary in a coal mine." Because of her rather stubborn behavior and despite their magical (and emotional) bond, which trumped even Nathaniel's loyalty to the king, would Zap attempt the journey - he'd sing like said canary to the Allfather.
"Besides, J'moy..." Is that what their were being called now? "Could not accompany you... alive." No mortal could. "Only a God or Goddess can travel beyond the veil... or a soul unfettered by their mortal body." As Nate could, in fact, separate his body and soul, he remained the perfect specimen for the mine. "Admittedly, it's not my first choice." He explained, "Ideally, I'd send someone more anonymous." The hand of the queen was hardly a celebrity but were someone in that realm to discover his position they could use that against him. "But I seriously doubt anyone would willingly agree to the mission." He mused, momentarily distracted by the light which reflected from her crown. "It suits you." He gestured to his own head, and thought how well the rest of her ensemble suited her, too. "I'm glad to see you wearing that ring." The ring, opposite her wedding ring, which included a stone Nate had imbued with certain abilities - mostly in order to maintain their personal connection.
"The pensieve would need to physically exist somewhere..." He returned to his train of thought, two trains ago.
