Re: What it is!
The Allfather and King of Asgard stood when his queen and council took their seats. The only door to the chamber was closed, the combined kings' guards secured the room from the outside. Thor allowed a moment to pass then addressed the room of trusted few. "Asgard was my home, but admittedly my affections for it grew distant. Someone might blame my love affair with Midguard, or the death of my mother, or even still the foundation of untruths it was built upon." Thor shared a slightly uncomfortable glance toward Freyr. "Even when we built Vernal Asgard and returned our people here... it did not feel like my home." Thor's arm reached out and he placed his hand gently on Eva's shoulder. "Too much glory and importance is put on the role of king in our society. The heart of a kingdom truly lives within its queen. Today, Asgard has a queen and it once again feels like my home."
Warpath quickly pounded his fist against the table a couple of times before he realized perhaps that wasn't appropriate, though he'd enjoyed Thor's speech. He looked toward Forge, who didn't seem to object and Jimmy suddenly felt empowered by that.
"Yes." Thor smirked at the unsolicited show of support. "That being said, this ground will always be home to my family... which might have grown more than expected yesterday. I believe everyone here was involved in some part of our family drama..." Thor again glanced at Freyr, "You weren't the only one to have a surprise last night." The Allfather smirked and hoped that Eva hadn't noticed. "Baldr, my younger brother; Eva has no doubt, so I have no doubt. We are here to discuss our next move." Thor finally sat and relented the floor to Nathaniel. "I believe the queen's adviser had some information."
Nate cleared his throat, mostly to stall for a few extra seconds. Not shy by any means, the farm boy from Iowa sometimes still wished he'd been gifted with Warren's talent for public speaking. "Yes." He confirmed from his rather isolated seat, across from most of the other council members. "I spent the end of the night with Baldr and I've confirmed several facts within the Asgardian histories," he stated, dryly. "According to your own tomes, Odin bestowed a series of abilities... light, joy, purity for instance to a rather nameless and obscure figure. One described as a blond man with the bravery of a thousand Asgardians." Nate paraphrased. "Then this demi-god is never mentioned again. So how does a dark-haired man with Odin's blood arrive with those exact same abilities and not be an Odinson?" Caltrops posed to the combined group.
"He erased one child," Forge reminded the group that didn't need the reminder. "So clearly he was capable."
"Yes, but Hela was disturbed," Thor added, a wee bit tired of having to defend his siblings. "Those who have met him, did you notice anything in Baldr's behavior?"
"No," Nate answered simply, because the demi-god had been perfectly pleasant.
"Nah," Jimmy chimed in, leather flaps still not cooperating. "He never even attacked us." Warpath confirmed.
