So, what - if you hadn't seen me, I'd just continue to be ignorant for the rest of my life?" Granted, that was an unlikely scenario, given the fact they now moved within the same circles. They would've crossed each other's path eventually. Perhaps she should be thankful it was happening now when people were more keen on getting home after a long day of celebration then remaining to spectate at an impromptu family reunion. The only on-lookers were Heimdall and Pétr - and soon-to-be Rafe, who was drunk-girl-stumbling towards them like a pro.Rhiannon opted to remain standing but did rest her hip (thigh?) against the table to keep stable. She decided to cross her arms beneath her chest which was body language's code for 'I'm not comfortable with this/I don't want to be here". He didn't feel guilty? "Bully for you then," she said through thinly veiled sarcasm. "So glad you're okay with my taking time to adjust to all this. That's really big of you." That bit was less concealed and more overt.Rafe was at her elbow now and giving the ginger deity a look that clearly read 'who the hell are you?'. Plates? Cue eyeroll. "No, I'm here for this tall glass of sun tea," she retorted, looping an arm through Rhiannon's and giving it a gentle tug. "I'm so ready to go home now. My feet feel like they're going to fall off at any second," she informed her bestie who was actually taller than she was at the moment; she'd lost her shoes hours ago. Somewhere.

There was a part of Rhiannon that understood the logic behind Freyr's decision to leave her in the care of her mother's family. She could even sympathize with him on some level but that didn't change the fact that the reason was complete and utter bullshit. She honestly could've benefitted from having her father in her life, especially when she was younger. "How long did you 'check in' on me?" she asked, curiosity getting the better of her; it couldn't have been that long since he seemed to think he'd left her in capable (loving) hands of her maternal relatives. Why stop though? This wasn't the action of a father who had planned to become part of his child's life eventually. He'd checked out. He'd abandoned her.Fuck.Rafe stood by her friend, shocked. So, this was Rhia's daddy? Admittedly she'd been curious to know if the guy still existed out there and lo and behold! There he was, a god and a king, and totally oblivious as to why Rhiannon wasn't falling all over herself to embrace him. "Well, shit," the dark-haired woman said finally. "One mystery solved, I guess?" Heh.Rhiannon actually snorted in derision and lowered her gaze to the floor - or her shoes more specifically - for a moment. Yes, mystery-fucking-solved. This knowledge should've brought her some sort of satisfaction but it didn't. It really didn't. If anything, it made her feel worse. Her headcanons about her father had been so much better, in her opinion. She shook her head and glanced back up, and by then she caught sight of her fellow redhead and librarian, and Thor. If her anxiety had been at a '10' before, it was at '11' now and rapidly increasing."Maybe some other time," Rhia responded to Freyr's request to keep the conversation going. Despite the fact that she'd rather pretend this never happened, she knew that this conversation needed to happen sooner or later but she wanted to happen on her terms. She managed to give both the Allfather and Pétr a small smile though when they approached the trio. She was still brassed off but not at them, and they seemed to be there to break the tension or at the very least to keep it from escalating into something bigger than it needed to be.
