Re: I'm bracing for the pain and I am letting go.
Eva's return had reached near, if not far, and Brian had come from the sciences wing of the palace to greet his returning friends and check on the mother-to-be. "Welcome home," he said to Eva, quietly, as she'd just thanked the lot of them standing by. "Feeling well?"
"I'm okay. Going to grab some sugar whether you like it or not," said the mystic.
"Be my guest," he surrendered immediately and was taken up in a hug by the future queen. Ah. He saw what she'd done there. Sugar as in physical affection. Of course. He held her back for a moment, then released the confection-seeking royal to return to her family. He turned to speak to Will (his colleague in Asgard's medical staff) and awkwardly stared for a moment before clearing his throat to alert the lip-locked Will and Troy that he was nearby and Eva was gone and things had gotten weird. He swallowed and felt as if the color blue had filled his stomach.
