Re: I'm bracing for the pain and I am letting go.
"Handpicked," Zap said, of Jimmy and Troy. She gave Thor some side-eye when he tried to excuse Loki (of something that really wasn't an offense anyway, she knew). They reached the ground and she sighed with relief, then released Thor's arm. "Good boy," she told Minor before her ears perked at the voice of her son.
"Teo!" the Native-Latina called. As the sensation of the astral pup cooled her ankles, she anticipated the impact of Mateo's embrace. She held his head to her chest and squeezed his shoulders with the other arm. "I love you," Eva informed the boy. "Did you keep your Abuelo nice and distracted?"
"Yes, we mostly played tag. I won a lot."
"He only has one leg," Zap countered.
"And he's 100 years old."
"That too." He was not.
She looked over his head at her father and smiled at the older Native, then pulled Mateo from her and took his hand instead. Her head turned to spy Logan and she led their son to his father, whom she met with a grateful hug. "Thank you," she said, not to Wolverine but to Charles, for not allowing Logan to become an international criminal (again).
