At Piotr's comment about his brother, Zap's shoulders relaxed a bit again. They were on the same page; good. Coffee came, and the others dived in, but Eva was watching the subtle (graceful!) interactions between the new pair of lovebirds.
"I wasn't." Eva told her fellow professor, a playful challenge in her voice.
As Colossus nearly smooshed food in her face, she relented to be cautiously optimistic about Shadowcat's new beau and opened her mouth to take a bite she didn't need. She laughed with her hand over her lips as she chewed. "I love you," her eyes lit when they locked with Pete's and she leaned in to kiss him, pastry and all.
