"Aww, thanks." Soph said with a smile. David was being charming. It wasn't a rare occurrence, because David was a kind man, but it was nice to hear.
"They're my favorite, too," she agreed. "The dawn is similar, but I've always kind of liked the critters that hang out in the dark a little more, you know? Bats, foxes...cats." She grinned at her occasionally feline friend.
She nodded a couple of times at his response. As a person who spent a lot of time with her head in the clouds, she understood where David was coming from. She noted the change in his voice when he said her name and her eyes moved to his face. Then he dropped an expected bomb.
"How do you know what to write down for the love scenes - in your stories, I mean?"
An unbidden laugh escaped her throat. It was the absolute last subject she thought they'd be talking about. Her eyes glanced to the darkening sky and she cursed it for looking so romantical, especially at that moment.
"Well..." Soph began, her voice mostly steady. "I don't... have a lot of experience in that department, but," she cleared her throat as there seemed to be a frog trying to herb in there. "I sort of just... imagine what I think might feel good," she paused, finally glancing at his face. "Or what I think someone else might think feels good." Her face was prickling with heat and it wasn't because of the weather. She turned her body to face David's. "What made you ask that?" she asked, a small smile forming on her lips.
