But he was my trouble. [info]caltrops 2018-11-13 04:28 pm (local) (link) Track This Nathaniel stood, ominously, where he'd elected to meet his prey. His dark eyes narrowed when he felt his target approach and then Eva's sing-songy voice erupted from his pocket.
"I'm a potato..."
"Oh for the love of..." Nate trailed off and opened the text message which had ruined his vibe. "Oh fuck," the royal vizier said with a chuckle. Freyr, King of Alfheim, had texted him... and it was a fantastic message. Nathaniel smirked at the potential. Unfortunately, he was still smiling when Ronan rounded the corner.
"Fucking hell," the Murphy uttered when he was suddenly face to face with the taller man. "The sight of you smiling is legitimately terrifying."
Nate chuckled a few more times, unwilling to let Ronan ruin his moment. His phone disappeared into his pocket and without acknowledgment of Mars, Nate's game face returned. "Hello Ronan, you've aged," Nathaniel commented on the Irishman's weathered appearance.
Ronan sighed, not amused. "Listen Nate, I'd've prepared a better comeback but I didn't hear the sound of your cloven hooves to warn me," he admitted. "What that fuck do ye want?"
"You haven't told me everything about your journey through Helheim," he focused on Ronan's slightly dimmed blue eyes. "Tell me about your interaction with the demon Mephisto."
"I interacted with a lot of demons," Ronan countered then started to walk along his merry way until Nate's shoulder blocked his path.
"Don't," Nate spoke softly with into Ronan's ear, now intimately close. "Lie to me," Caltrops warned then side-stepped Mars so that the other man could pass. "I'll find out what you're hiding and I'll expose you. Just like the King of Alfheim just exposed himself to me. You're lucky I have to go show someone this picture," he semi-explained then waved his hand to remove the demon trap he'd painted on the ceiling above where Ronan had walked. "Goodbye, Ronan," Nate bid the other man farewell then left the corridor completely.
After he re-routed his original path he entered where the wizard knew Eva to be. Luckily, she was alone. "I have a job for Dom and Morgan. And a picture you should probably see," the adviser told his queen and newly-admitted love with a completely serious expression. (Reply to this)(Thread)
Re: But he was my trouble. [info]eva_xavier 2018-11-13 04:42 pm (local) (link) Track This "Okay," noted, and mildly concerned. Zap smiled as she looked up from the findings (thus far) about the basin she'd been pouring over. He was lying. Her smile disappeared and she steeled herself for what she was going to be feasting her eyes o-OH! "OH. Oh no..." Her face was probably twisted and scrunched out of recognition. "Oh no," she repeated, risking a last glance back at Nate's phone after her head had snapped in another direction. "Why." It wasn't really a question. More a plea. Whew... she needed a breather. Freyr. "Don't do that," she warned the man who was leaning over her, then elbowed his wide ribcage. Her face remained upturned, however, and she stared for a moment at Nate's evil, precious face before she remembered the other part. "Dom and Morgan. Techniques to avoid lunatics on the fly?" Weenie, Lorna, Freyr... (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread)
Re: But he was my trouble. [info]caltrops 2018-11-13 04:59 pm (local) (link) Track This The only thing more glorious than having a king send you an unsolicited dick pic, when you were a troll, was the expression of victims when you showed them the picture. Nate's grim stare betrayed a smirk and his eyes widened when he went to answer the queen. "He's asked me to outfit Skadi with a phone so that he can..." the rest was self-explanatory but it still gave Nate a chuckle.
"I told you my break would be productive," Caltrops added, now back and ready work after his trapping/threatening of Ronan. "Any breakthroughs?" Nathaniel already confident he knew the answer. "I did have a thought," he started and his eyes flicked from the basin to Eva's face. Her features were beautifully illuminated in the gentle glow of the mystic container. "We could simply 'Troy' Loki into it," Nate suggested and mimicked his head being placed into the artifact. (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread)
Re: But he was my trouble. [info]eva_xavier 2018-11-13 05:24 pm (local) (link) Track This "...outfit Skadi with a phone so that he can..." She covered her face with her hands - a signal for Nate to stop talking. And he did. Good. "Poor, statuesque woman..." the queen mused with pity. "No," she said, having hoped to put off her least favorite option until very last. It seemed like that choice was on the horizon. When Nate mentioned Troying Loki into the bowl, she shook her head with laughter and dismissal. "I'm going to try a few more things before I break down and ask Thor for more blood." She'd done a lot of that lately. He'd been very giving as of late...
"I was thinking I could stay later when I visit tonight," the Latina suggested to her currently very troll-like companion. (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread)
Re: But he was my trouble. [info]nathaniel_zale 2018-11-13 06:11 pm (local) (link) Track This Or don't wait, Nate thought but didn't dare say. The notion of having a supply of the Allfather's blood laying around was intriguing to the wizard. However, he understood why that wasn't a good idea... for the realm.
"Well," Caltrops had begun, his expression very stern and deep in contemplation. He then stared a bit blankly at Eva, the way J'moy did when she said something too magically advanced for them, "good," the queen's adviser answered with the satisfaction of a won argument... though there had been no argument.
His hand, which matched the rest of his features in being too long and crooked for his own good, reached out and enveloped Eva's. "I was just thinking I'd like that," he answered while their rings suddenly glowed in response. "Perhaps it's the shimmer of the ancient Asgardian treasure, but you're somehow even more lovely today..." Nate's eyes had turned kind for a moment and the spell-caster remedied that quickly. "Maybe it requires a tool," Nate's mind had shifted momentarily to the basin. "We should examine some of Odin's... ...spear." A light bulb should have appeared over his head. "His spear," Nate played a hunch and was thankfully moved on to another king's spear. "I can make dinner," he added after his thought train jumped another track. "I'm better at cooking than dancing." Re: But he was my trouble. [info]eva_xavier 2018-11-13 06:40 pm (local) (link) Track This "...I'd like that. ...more lovely today. I can make dinner."
There was a warmth in her at Nate's touch, but besides the mention of another Asgardian relic (spear), Nate hadn't said anything interesting to the queen. She'd rewind back on that tidbit later when she wasn't visibly bored. Eva stood. "I'm not interested in dinner." The queen then took the basin, sealed it back in the cabinet where she kept it in her reception room, and turned back toward Nathaniel.
"We have dinner together a few times a week. And lunch and breakfast." She gave him a sympathetic smile before she left the room. (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread)
Re: But he was my trouble. [info]nathaniel_zale 2018-11-13 07:49 pm (local) (link) Track This Nate had finally arrived on this block of Eva-town, the wrong side of the tracks - with the Ghoulies. The adviser stalled when Zap said her very true statement then left the room abruptly. He'd committed one of the worst sins possible in his queen's view: the offense of boredom. "Oh, bother," he said aloud and poked fun at himself. Perhaps he had played the moment too slow, the book-smart wizard wondered quietly - then vanished into the shadows of the room.
The corridor Eva had entered darkened around her... Only one path remained illuminated for the Native, which happened to lead to Nate's palace suite. Caltrops entered the hallway via the murkiness and confronted Eva face to face. "Understand this, my queen, you can't dismiss me like one of your servants." He kissed the mixed woman on the lips, much more fiercely than he had the day before. When Nathaniel pulled away, his form shifted into the shadows once more and only his voice remained detectable. "The light grows dim on this path you've chosen." (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread)
Re: But he was my trouble. [info]eva_xavier 2018-11-13 07:58 pm (local) (link) Track This It was a good kiss. A good start. Then he vanished and wanted her to play his love games. Eva sighed and called out into the hallway, "I wanna get in your pants, not get DM'd!" She summoned lightning in both hands and it shot down the corridor Nate had left shadowed. As she strode, the energy from her hands kept renewing, constant orbs of power at her sides. So she'd let her hormones get the better of her. And she'd misspoken, a tad. She didn't just want to have sex with Nate. That was the issue. With their mental and emotional intimacy already in place, they were left in a situation of figuring out the physical... and what their roles were to one another. It was unexplored territory, and she realized that (more just then than five minutes earlier). She appeared in his room where he probably thought he was 'waiting in the shadows' and set electricity over Caltrops' form, bringing the tall, dark man to his knees.
"Serve me." (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread)
Re: But he was my trouble. [info]nathaniel_zale 2018-11-13 08:33 pm (local) (link) Track This Nate smirked a secret smirk when Eva declared her intentions in the hallway, well at least he knew. Caltrops was simultaneously excited and a bit afraid of the Goddesses of Magic's response to his disappearing act. It was a powerful mixture.
Caltrops' best laid plans, his knots in her spiderweb, were nearly all obliterated by the Latina's show of sheer mutant/magically force. Her lightning struck his body and from his knees, the wizard suddenly regretted his earlier words. She might not have been in the mood to roll, but Nathaniel took a chance and defied his queen once more. Without a backup plan, his ethereal form - the cloaked and faceless terror, engulfed Nathaniel. In his less than corporal state, he sunk beneath the floor and resurfaced standing directly behind Eva. Solid and in human form once again, he placed one hand of Eva's hip and other on her side. Risking horrible electrocution, his lips moved closer to Eva's ear. "I will serve you, your majesty. We both know you've wanted me behind you." (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread)
Re: But he was my trouble. [info]eva_xavier 2018-11-13 08:42 pm (local) (link) Track This So it was like that, huh? Admittedly, Zap's heart was racing. Feats of strength competition, check. Nate's misdirects were amusing to witness but less fun to experience. So, once her mind recovered from the face-melter that was Nate's living panic attack, she leaned back into his now-solid body. Had her adrenaline not been in full swing, she might've decided to make a home there against him for a few minutes. However, he was being saucy and borderline telepathic, so she clearly had to shut things down.
Her arm rose, electricity simmering as it did, and when her hand reached his face, she cupped his beloved ear and played with it between her fingers for a few counts. "The man behind the queen," she spoke, finally. There was a smile in her voice, and a wickedness. After enjoying her fingers in his hair 'til the last possible second, Zap turned against Nate and held their chests together. "I just wanted you to kiss me," she explained to her good friend, eyes probably more vulnerable than she was aware. (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread)
Re: But he was my trouble. [info]caltrops 2018-11-13 09:14 pm (local) (link) Track This Nathaniel had braced for the next round of Eva's escalating waltz of power, with a keen eye to the fact that he simply didn't have as much as she did. When she turned, her vulnerable side once again exposed, the sorcerer nearly suffered whiplash. "I should have just kissed you," he admitted in a rare moment of precise speech. Nate leaned forward and placed his lips against the electrokine's, her skin still slightly buzzing. Caltrops repeated that, and his arms cradled Eva as close to his body as possible. "What I 'could' do with you and what I 'wanted' to do have been in two different boxes for so long..." Nathaniel shared with his lips still close enough to graze Eva's soft cheek when he'd spoken. "But the wall's come down and I'm ready for you to come flooding in," he explained and then kissed Eva passionately, encircling her with his electrically-stimulated body. Re: But he was my trouble. [info]eva_xavier 2018-11-13 09:23 pm (local) (link) Track This "Mmhmm," she agreed to 'should have just'. He was a good listener. And smart. She smiled with her eyes as he explained his difficulties, knowing well what he felt, herself. She doubted he'd truly tortured himself over his situation, but now that things had changed, there was a bit of hesitation between them. And she wasn't upset about that - or about anything. They were figuring this out together. Zap's arms held Nate close when he wrapped her up, and their kiss was long and cathartic...
But then she pulled back and patted his chest with her left hand. "Good talk. I'm going to go get that spear," she said as she stepped backward once and then moved around Nate to leave the room. "I'll have it set up in the conservatory, whenever you decide you know what you want it for." The bulge in his pants as she gave him one last look made her smirk with pride and longing, but she quickly shut the door behind her and breezed back down the hallway to head to the armory.
