Bo-oi-oing "Morning," Zap said to her adviser and smiled when he looked up from the plate of whatever he was eating. Breakfast. It didn't matter. Unless there were hash browns. Heh. He usually ate before everyone else, because he was an anti-social troll, who only stuck around long enough to say good morning to his son. "I asked the boys to eat in the kitchens." She sat - on the corner opposite Nate's, so their elbows shared the corner of the table.
Her ring that had been bound to Caltrops' was probably telling of her elevated heartbeat. The red gems called carbuncle that were set into the metal bands on their fingers began to glow as she removed her magical block between the jewelry pieces. She locked brown eyes on brown eyes and a sideways smile came to her lips just before she cast a spell to send a warming sensation from his ring, up his arm, and into Nate's chest. "May we... finish our waltz?" An orchestral, minor rendition of 'Once Upon a Dream' came to their ears from nowhere and the snow Nate had once conjured began to flurry from the ceiling. Breaking the wall had brought her instant relief, and Eva drew in a deep breath as if she'd been holding it during her disconnection from Nathaniel. (Reply to this)(Thread)
Re: Boi-oi-oing. [info]nathaniel_zale 2018-11-12 12:32 pm (local) (link) Track This "My queen," he greeted with the title that had very much become a term of endearment for Eva, because of how proud the adviser was to call her his queen. The Hand's back stiffened though he chose not to stand, mostly not to offend Eva. "Oh," Nate said of the boys while he noticed her sweater/trainer pairing - which he enjoyed. "Straight to work then?" his asked then suddenly felt under dressed - his work robes no where in sight.
When Eva dropped her embargo on feelings and their rings began to glow, Caltrop's eyes narrowed and he pushed his plate away from him "I don't..." he began before she'd requested a dance. "Of course," Nate quickly stood and offered Eva his arm. They were instantaneously in hold - exactly where they'd left off and Nate's curiosity won the battle inside his head. "What's changed?" Eva hadn't been the only sorcerer with hidden emotions dancing this waltz, but at the moment she held a important piece of the equation. (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread)
Re: Boi-oi-oing. [info]tjuzs 2018-11-12 12:50 pm (local) (link) Track This His affections rushed over her, confirming what she'd hoped, and soothing her last remaining remnants of worry that she was about to be rejected and ruin their relationship. Their proper waltz soon faltered as she became more and more distracted with an answer, and they stood mostly just swaying to the tempo until she met Nate's gaze again and spoke. With a smile, "You're not the first person I've opened up to since last night." Thor had been a crucial part in the acceptance of her feelings and in allowing a small beam of possibility to shine. Her face pressed to Nate's chest, her temple hitting the top of his shoulder. Oh, for God's sake, she thought as she liberally breathed him in. The queen then pointed a verbal finger: "You didn't let me in, either." Not the way they had just minutes earlier. Long before she'd built a cautionary fort, Nate had kept himself clammed up, personally. (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread)
Re: Boi-oi-oing. [info]nathaniel_zale 2018-11-12 01:16 pm (local) (link) Track This "Should I be worried..." Nate mused so softly that he hadn't even bothered to complete his own sentence. The level of connection between he and Eva had reached a new level and the wizard certainly did feel as though they could finish each other's sandwiches. If Eva had indeed spoken to the Allfather and was here, Nathaniel could only assume it had gone well. Unless it hadn't and she'd arrived for several hugs before Stormbreaker turned into Nate-breaker.
Her face pressing against his chest alleviated any lingering worries Nathaniel had briefly harbored. Their bodies slowed and now barely even swayed and his dance hold morphed into an honest-to-gods hug. "You're a married goddess," he clarified his reasons for his emotional disguise. "I care much more for your well being than my..." Nate paused, having yet to verbally explain any of this reasoning on the subject, "happiness." (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread)
Re: Boi-oi-oing. [info]buena_vista 2018-11-12 01:32 pm (local) (link) Track This He was smarter than that, so she hadn't even acknowledged his temporary concern about being in danger. Yes, she was a married goddess. Those were two totally new things to her, though. She knew herself well, and the principal aspects of her being didn't revolve around those two components. He was right, though, and she understood his point of view. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry you felt that way - stuck," Eva told him while adjusting her hands to new places now that their dance was abandoned. They'd finish it someday.
She'd felt stuck too, and having taken a leap of faith had been more comforting than freeing. She didn't want to be free. "Well, what am I supposed to do with you now?" The electrokine drew back and let a buzz move from her hands over Nate's t-shirt covered shoulders where they'd come to rest. "My Iowan wizard." Her eyes stayed focused on his through a happy little smirk. Then she was just left grinning at him. Like an idiot. A happy idiot. (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread)
Re: Boi-oi-oing. [info]nathaniel_zale 2018-11-12 02:27 pm (local) (link) Track This "Don't be," Nathaniel responded to her apology sincerely. "I may not have known what I was getting into but I... embraced it," he revealed and breathed much easier since everything had escaped. Despite his reputation for secrets, Nate hadn't enjoyed hiding things from Eva. An odd development to be sure.
Her warm and buzzing(?) fingers laid against his shirt. He felt both her magical energy and electricity and steadied his footing. She was power wrapped into beauty and Nathaniel invited her within him, with every deep breath of her that he took into his lungs. "Well, your majesty," he addressed her, a flash of the devil in his eyes. "I believe you can do whatever you'd wish," the adviser explained as though she were unaware of her status. "May I advise you?" Caltrops asked without any intention of allowing her to answer. "This is nice," he explained then leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on her lips. "So was that," he needlessly commented. "I just hope to be spared any baking," the Eva-dubbed-potato added with a smile against her cheek. (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread)
Re: Boi-oi-oing. [info]zaviera 2018-11-12 02:38 pm (local) (link) Track This Permission to do her worst? The devil jumped from Nate's eyes to her own, at that. Evangelina had spent some time considering things to do with Mr. Zale: "Baking isn't on the list," she confirmed, then took either side of his face between her hands and eased him back down to her lips. After he was released, Eva dusted some snow from his almost-black hair and grinned up at him, eyes half-lidded and eyebrows up with the after effects of a good impression. Then she dove back in and kissed her confidante more fiercely; longer. His lips felt like she'd imagined... and they were soon smiling against each other as they kissed, and only broke when she started to laugh against Nate's mouth. She held two handfuls of his dice shirt in her fists and kept her forehead pressed to his. "I'm taking a sick day." Zap pressed her full lips to his well-sized nose for several seconds before she nuzzled Nate's eye socket with her own nose and pulled back. "Can we just spend some time together?" Re: Boi-oi-oing. [info]nathaniel_zale 2018-11-12 03:40 pm (local) (link) Track This The obligatory dark cloud was so intensely positive about this moment, he allowed her comment about baking to sail by without a quip. Beside that, he was being lovingly smooshed and actively enjoying it. When they kissed the room spun and he felt a warmth he'd doubted existed. And the affection drunk Nate smiled and pressed his face into as much of Eva's as physically possible. He nose even responded with a boop of it's own onto her adorable rounded nose.
"That is..." Nate thought about sass, then thought better of it - but smirked as though he'd said it. "Yes," he answered simply to her finally request. "But if you want to be alone," he started back in his more ominous zone again. Nate's arm waved above the pair of them and the light distorted around them.
"Eva!" Jon entered the kitchen in search of his daughter, fairly sure he'd noticed the Queen of Asgard (so proud) lurking around near this dining room. He visually scanned the room and didn't see anyone. Forge took a few steps in and noticed the half eaten breakfast burrito. "That's a waste," Jon snatched up the plate and walked toward the exit. "Where is that girl? Eva! I need to know if I can take this ancient-looking thing apart," he hollered into the other room as he exited.
Nate's expression remained blank, his point proven immediately, glad he'd placed that cloaking spell on the pair. Caltrops waited to speak again until Jon's ramblings about sour cream disappeared into the ether. "Impossible for a queen to get away," he said and placed another kiss on her forehead. "May I suggest my suite? Nobody goes there," he confirmed and with one text to Brayden - Nate could ensure privacy. The boy's almost-nightly wish to stay with Mateo after school could be fulfilled in an instant. (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread)
Re: Boi-oi-oing. [info]electrokine 2018-11-12 03:54 pm (local) (link) Track This Lightning had simmered across her eyes horizontally when the magic-man had considered backtalk concerning work, but his smarts won out in the end. She sighed with contentment just before her eyebrow quirked up at the spellcasting. "Eva!" Right.
Her hands fell from their resting place against Nate's chest and she withdrew her phone from her sweater's pocket, then texted her father a confirmation. He kissed her head and Zap hugged her fellow brunette again. "Alright," she nodded against him and withdrew, then brought the cloak down by her own hand. "Your place, fifteen minutes, Netflix," and cuddles were implied. She had to go make sure she hadn't given Forge permission to dismantle something explosive. Eva turned back at the last second and blinked a few times as she stared at Caltrops. "I'm in love with your big, goofy ears," she confessed as the snow began to dissipate, and a magical force gave his ears a wiggle underneath the hair where they usually hid. Those ears were the ones that she depended on so often and seemed to have been finely tuned to pick up the most important parts of her thoughts and feelings. (Reply to this)(Parent) (Thread)
Re: Boi-oi-oing. [info]nathaniel_zale 2018-11-12 05:22 pm (local) (link) Track This Eva glided away and the chill of the enchanted snow returned to his spine. "I'll have snacks ready," Nate sassed carefully, but also sort of meant it. She'd confessed the love she had for his perfectly acceptable ears and he quietly smiled. Nate hoped the warmth on his cheeks hadn't shown too brightly and his eyes fell to the floor for a moment. When Eva turned to continue her exit, her lovely face once again connected with Nate's chest when he instantaneously traveled across the room and appeared in Zap's path. His ears stuck slightly out of his mane of hair. "I'm in love with you," he shared and considered it more polite than to name all the big features of Eva's he appreciated. "Fair warning, I'm very selective about my Netflix programming," he informed her and used her sweater to pull Eva in for another smooch before their broadband adventure. Re: Boi-oi-oing. [info]electrokine 2018-11-12 05:43 pm (local) (link) Track This They'd been playful, sure, but when the peeking-earred man stopped her by apparating in her path and said a very specific sequences of words to the queen, she felt as if her heart had stopped. Zap had spent minutes of every hour forcing thoughts of admiration of Nate out of the forefront of her mind. Friendship ran deep between them, and his tutelage had given her knowledge, power and a bond like no other. With the dash of offputting dry wit and a bit of zested creep, he was the perfect recipe for her to slowly fall smitten with. It was real. It had to be real. This wasn't the situation she'd been worried over for the last few weeks. No. Nate was just as deep into this magical mudslide as she was.
She tugged his earlobes. "I'm so," her voice was breathless with relief, "in love with you." The look in her eye was a combination of absolute admiration and accusation. Their mouths locked, her arms ensnared the warlock and she pressed herself against him, feeding off of the uncanny mystical vibe that existed beyond their previous barriers. They were still kissing. Her body had long since begun to react to their interactions - chest aching, belly tense, hands hungry. "Let's go for a walk, instead," the queen requested after breaking the kiss.
"I might cocoon you, otherwise. Grab your best robes, Severus." Zap gave him a slow wink as she smirked up at him with every intention of leaving the room for real that time, but her arms ensnared his neck and she kissed Nate another round.
