Press Release from Xavier's School
After a violent act, as a society we tend to focus on the perpetrators. Countless reports are done on who was involved, trying to figure out the why and what measures can be taken to prevent another tragedy. We could do the same with the incident that happened recently at a mall opening, killing many and injuring hundreds.
But I implore everyone to focus on those who stepped in to help drag others from the fray, those first responders who headed inside to work at putting a stop to the situation, those who risked their own lives to save another’s. Focus on the support that has been given to those who have lost a loved one, on ways to continue offering assistance to those still reeling from these heinous acts.
The group that instigated this wants nothing more than to drive a wedge between families, to showcase a group of people as ‘other’, and to do as so many other hate groups have in causing a split that makes it easier for them to propagate their belief that different means dangerous.
Both humans and enhanced individuals were injured and killed when all they had been attempting to do was enjoy a trip to the mall. Something that shouldn’t be tarnished by those wishing to divide. Hate cannot be destroyed by more hate, but by uniting for a peaceful coexistence.
We must show organizations such as the Friends of Humanity that we will not be bullied into silence, into accepting their harsh ideals of the world, but that instead we will come together as one to build a future where no one needs to fear attending a mall opening, going to school, or a hundred other activities that have become targets.
In the words of former President Abraham Lincoln, "We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies."

Forum: Xavier Staff, Students, and Consultants
Given the excitement of the past few weeks, I think we're all in need of a vacation.
With that in mind, all staff, students, and consultants and invited to an outing to Calf Pasture Beach. There will be food provided (Staff: Yes, the food will be provided by us. We're having a potluck), and we'll have transportation for all who wish to go. It will be Monday, August 29th.
Any questions?
[Professor Xavier]
I apologize for my silence; this job you gave me is a bit overwhelming at times. Speaking of that, I may need a bit of advice.
Personal Message; Professor Xavier:
Charles;
I understand that this is hardly the time, what with the recent incidents with the Friends of Humanity and classes resuming shortly, however, in light of recent events and indeed partially for personal reasons, I feel it is best to take a extended hiatus from both the X-Men and indeed teaching at the Institute.
I don't doubt you'll have a stream of suggestions from my colleague as to who can take over my classes.
Of course, I will still be fully available should I be required.
Yours,
Emma

Xavier's Faculty and Students:
As I am aware just how quickly gossip spreads through the school, I'll nip it in the bud before it starts.
I'm take a leave of absence. I shall not be teaching this semester and I am removing myself from the active X-Men roster. I will be remaining in the city and will be entirely reachable, I'm just taking some time to reassess things.
I can be reached via normal communications or specific mental reach outs -please remember I do maintain an active social life and may be busy at times, but in crisis, naturally I'm available.
