With the Avengers left divided in the aftermath of their civil war, a global crisis couldn't have come at a worse time. By the time Thanos collected the last of the infinity stones, the battle was over before it had begun. The good guys were hopelessly outmatched and outgunned, the world in chaos. Steve Rogers gave his life to give them all one last shot at putting the devastation and destruction right: he died in the process, but he was able to liberate the Time Gem from Thanos's possession.

There is no home to return to.

1943: In the thick of World War II, the SSR - and Captain America's commandos - just got a much bigger unit. There are two goals now: making sure WWII turns out with a victory for the Allied forces....and stopping the apocalypse a good seventy years before it begins.
