The new girl's level of hostility hadn't increased, but aggression was certainly still there. Maria had no ability to punch through metal, make invisible shields or read people's minds. And she was unarmed. Of course she was defensive.
The question was directed at Betsy. Maria didn't even bother trying to answer, but she did have a question of her own. "Can you tell hostile from friendly? If you can identify intent, it might be a good idea to group up with others until we have a better idea of what's going on."
