His averted gaze was enough to tell Betsy that this was worse than she'd expected. Not to say that she'd taken what he had told her over the comms lightly, because she took very little lightly in this place. Johnny had been one of the more calm people there; coming off as strong and able to handle himself, but this side of himself that was right in front of her - it showed uncertainty and fear, and Betsy was surprised when she felt a literal ache in her heart at the thought of him dealing with this alone.
It sounded bad, but she kept her expression calm and focused on being sympathetic toward him. The fact that he turned into a giant skeleton with Hellfire abilities made it easier to accept that there might be something inside of him that wanted what he'd described, but even after seeing what he could do in battle, Betsy wasn't afraid to try and seek out what was in there.
"Okay. It's okay, love. We'll sort this out, alright?" They were already dealing with enough. She had to believe that they could handle any personal issues, no matter how big or frightening. Her fingers curled around Johnny's, giving his hand a little squeeze before she scooted closer to him.
"I can search for another presence in your mind - the darker side." Already there was a pink hue appearing around her eyes, slowly forming into the shape of butterfly wings around her eyes as she actually dipped into his mind. He had agreed to this, which was the only reason she would do it, and as far as she was concerned, he shouldn't feel her in there. The darker side he was talking about, though, she wasn't sure how that would react.
