"I guess that means you should feel free to stay in that form if it makes you feel more comfortable... and trust me, you're going to want to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Life is not very nice here." Doug had a welcoming smile, even though as his words took on a darker tone. He was always going to be the hoper of far-flung hopes even if a bug was gnawing his head off right this second; he would believe in the best of them. So naturally he extended that belief to Karolina. "You don't look like you'd hurt a soul. The bugs notwithstanding since they attacked us so that was really more self-defense than anything else but if you want to get into it, I guess it can argued that we attacked them first first so... In any case, I seem to be doing all right so far." He made a show of poking his cheek. "Not zapped to pieces, so maybe that's a good sign your powers aren't harmful."
Unless she wanted them to be, but that was a thought he kept within his smile. It was clear to everyone that the bugs were sensitive to solar light, and if Karolina was a living sun, he was worried the others might pressure her into becoming a weapon. If she chose to join the fight, he had no right to have any qualm with it, but he didn't want her to feel pressured to do anything just because of the necessity of her powers.
"As far as I'm concerned, you wouldn't have to worry about staying away from people and living by yourself, like some of the others. Where are you staying now? Uh, if you don't mind me asking. Not for weird, stalker-y purposes, I promise. Just curious to know where everyone is and where to find you if something happens." He rolled his eyes and gave a crooked smile with a frown. "And something is always happening."
