Karolina didn’t judge for the squeak; she’d made one herself, after all, and she was way too busy making sure that the bug body in front of her wasn’t going to all of a sudden roll over and bite their heads off. She hadn’t had good experiences, but then, he probably hadn’t either, and he was still here treating the bug…well, not human, exactly, but close. It was admirable, the way he didn’t seem to hold any kind of grudge.
She blinked at his explanation, landing softly on the ground next to him, making sure to steer clear of the carcass. Karolina was pretty sure that this bug had tried to eat somebody, since it was on campus and also dead, but the rest of the man’s argument did kind of make sense.
“I hadn’t thought about it like that,” she admitted. “Although I am pretty mad that a couple hundred of them tried to eat me. Who knows, maybe I hated bugs before I even got here.”
When he offered to leave, she shook her head quickly. “No, please don’t leave. This thing gives me the creeps, and besides, you were here first. I was just exploring. I just arrived. Um, landed, I guess.”
