It was a credit to Hank's beside manner that he did not grimace at the dirty, makeshift bandage Pixie had applied to her wound, which was now infected. This meant that she was worse off physically than he'd originally anticipated, and her appointment would take longer. Still, he managed some encouragement as he gently removed the bandage.
The skin around the wound was swollen, with red streaking, and the wound itself though healing looked angry. It oozed yellowy-green pus and blood where it had not managed to scab. Luckily, it was not deep enough to impact important arteries or muscles in Pixie's arm, but she would still require stitches. It had to be causing her tremendous pain.
"Megan, you did the right thing by bandaging the wound after the attack happened. That was smart. You did what any other X-Man would have done, but now the wound is infected. That wound is why you have been feeling ill. Have you been feeling ill, Megan? Like you've had the flu? I'm going to have to clean and debride before I stitch it. Then I'm going to start you on a course of antibiotics to help fight the infection."
