If Jan knew what he was doing, she would make a big production and Steve didn't want to deal with the teasing. So, instead of the Avenger's Mansion, he took a few hours off duty and carrying his supplies with him as well as a light lunch, he went to Central Park, found a bench and pulled out his pencils. Jan had given him a drawing set last year for Christmas; they had been placed neatly under his bed and nearly forgotten until he reached under there two weeks ago to look for a missing sock.
Guilt finally motivated him to use the gift that Jan so thoughtfully gave. How she found out he had gone to school as an illustrator, she never revealed. On the bench, with the drawing tablet on his lap, he selected a pencil and held it like a foreign object. He hadn't drawn since before he took the Super Soldier Serum, and that was a long time ago. He wasn't even sure he was able to do it, anymore. Steve grimaced a little and looked around for some inspiration. Amidst the bright, autumn foliage, an interesting bridge caught his fancy. Studying the basic shapes for a moment and deciding how he wanted to center his picture, he began to lightly sketch.
