A man like Nick Fury had visited hundreds of bars in scores of nations around the world and in his forty plus years he never once entered a bar with the purpose of kicking someone in the ass. Sure, when you went drinking with your brothers in arms, sometimes fights broke out and beating someone down was inevitable. This was a whole new experience. So as he pushed the swinging door open, the sounds of outdated rock and the crack of billiards washed over him all at once. Fury scanned the faces of every person in the bar on the off chance some enemy of the state happened to be drowning his sorrows in a bottle of whiskey. Sometimes you got lucky. This wasn't the case. However during his search for wanted criminals Fury caught sight of one Carol Danvers by the bar. Just the woman he had been wanting to see.
He casually adjusted the black leather coat on his way to the bar. He made no attempts to conceal the shoulder rig he wore. Without so much as a greeting to his subordinate Fury took the stool next to Danvers. He caught the eye of the bartender and tapped on the bar once with his middle finger. The barkeep knew exactly what the General was asking for and in no time at all there was a glass and bottle of amber liquor set before him. Fury thanked the bartender with a smile and a bill. He went about pouring himself a liberal helping of liquor before finally addressing the women next to him. "Evening, Major." He said without ever really looking at her.
