Who: Emma and Jean NPCs: --- When: Early Morning, Saturday 3/29 Where: Xavier's Mansion & LA What: Shoe shopping with Emma and Jean Rating: PG-13
Jean was apprehensive about girl time with Emma to say the least. Even after all the time of Emma working at the school and with the X-Men, Jean found her to be a guarded woman and completely unlike most members of the team. That had its benefits, especially where the children were concerned--if someone felt too much pressure going to another member of the faculty, Emma was a frigid rock of impartiality for them to turn to. Jean supposed that iciness served its purpose.
Still, she thought back on the way the school had been when she started there. They had been a small group then--the children and adults in the most need of the institution, and they had been close. They still were for that matter. Even Magneto's departure hadn't ruined the good work that Xavier was doing there or the strong bonds of friendship created within the school's walls.
Which was why she wanted to be closer to Emma now. The X-men and Xavier's school had always been about giving mutants a safe home and acting as a family. It wouldn't be fair to write Emma off and not give her a chance to be a part of that. Hell, even Logan had managed to find his place on the family tree, and his demeanor was about as prickly as they came.
She checked her wristwatch, sitting on the edge of the fountain as she waited for Emma. She knew realistically that she shouldn't be so worried. What harm could come from shoe shopping?
