It was strange being back at the school after the turn in his relationship with Jean. In many ways, it almost seemed like an entirely new place. Instead of being the loner and outsider he had once been, he actually had someone with whom he could go to at all times, confide in, and talk to whenever he wanted or needed. Someone to actually go to bed with at night. Though he was enjoying the change, there was still a lot of things about his new relationship that he was trying to sort out. Jean, for once, was much neater or more organized than he ever was, and it was a constant effort to not destroy any cleaning up or other efforts she had made. It was also different, in having someone to worry about him when he did go out, and Logan was quickly beginning to see that his nights of drinking and smoking were coming to an abrupt end.
No matter. He could...mostly live with that.
But even in addition to those things, was his changing attitude toward the rest of the team. For once he actually wanted to participate more than he had in the past, though this may have been mostly fueled by his desire to be a part of the same team Jean was. More than once he found himself questioning whether he was an X-Man for himself or for her. The most startling change that he was having difficulty mulling over was the way in which he treated Scott. While he had not actually spoken to him in anything but passing since returning from Japan, Jean had urged him to be civil.
And to take responsibility for his actions, like busting up Scott's motorcycle again. Knelt beside the bike and working at it with a wrench, he decided that he must truly have fallen for Jean to do anything at all for Scott. Part of it though was his own attempt at a peace offering. More than fixing the damage he had done, Logan had actually spent the last several hours upgrading the bike, focusing primarily on the suspension and balance it would have at high speeds. He even swore when he was done that he would not take it out for a 'test drive' either, but leave it entirely up to Scott.
Though whether or not Scott accepted this small token was another matter entirely.
