Regan had been relieved to hear Tom had finally arrived in town. Her current assignment wasn't difficult but it was painstakingly boring. Regan had no objections to spying on people. It was fun some of the time. People had the most interesting secrets but all she had learned so far was that X-Factor was composed of some of the most mundane mutants on the planet. If they had been a reality show, they would have been canceled before the pilot could air. There was the jovial prankster who wasn't near as amusing as he thought he was. The quiet kid who didn't seem like he was old enough to finish secondary school. The insane red head who seemed to be more of a liability than anything-- but at least things were never dull with her around. Then there was the object of Magneto's interest who had a far too obvious attraction to the team leader who was quite possibly, the dullest man in America. He wasn't even all that attractive as far as leading men went.
He did seem to be a workaholic and more than obviously as to Lorna's interest. Or perhaps he was a poofter. All Regan knew was that he had spent far too much time in the kitchen and hadn't left with food. She couldn't begin to fathom what type of allure the kitchen could hold. Regan prefered to let others handle those pesky matters such as cooking and cleaning and more or less anything that had to do with manual labor.
Which was why she was currently seated at the best table in a five star resturant downtown. The establishment was called 'The Dining Room' which she was sure the Americans thought was positively clever. Reservations hadn't been a problem, of course. Regan had let Tom know the time and place. She was waiting on him so they might order but she was already two glasses into a bottle of wine.
She swirled the red liquid in her glass and contemplated Magneto's latest missive. Whatever he had planned would have to be more interesting than watching the Lifestyles of the Poor and Insipid. However, his timing wasn't agreeable. Depending on how long she'd be away there was a good chance Tom would have moved on by the time she returned to California watching reruns. Regan took a drink of wine. She really should check in with Selene to see how the information was coming. Little did Regan know the assignment was well underway.
