Jen's pen tapped monotonously against her desk as she stared out at the view from her office at GKLH. It was a nice view, and one she particularly wanted to keep. The problem was that Mallory Book was and would always been a thorn in her side, and for all of Book's transparent ruthlessness, the redhead was a thousand times the networker that Jen was. It wasn't enough for Jen to throw herself into her cases. It wasn't enough to be the only member of the firm who could properly represent herself as both a lawyer and a superhero with unique insights into the community at large. They were major players in a constantly changing branch of law, constantly pushing boundaries and establishing the rules by which atypical citizens lived and enjoyed civil liberties. There was no resting on one's laurels in the office.
For as loathe as she was to mix work with other work, the small stack of active cases she was staring at had her understanding that it might be time to call in favors. She tapped her pen on the desk for a moment more before making a phone call.
The number she dialed got her to the Avengers' personal hotline, for members only. It was a way to reach the hard to reach teammates without abusing their emergency comm line system. A cheer operator answered the phone, and Jen verified her credentials before being asked to be put through to Namor.
"Namor? Oh. Well. Okay. I'll try."
"Yeah, just do your best to get a hold of him. Let him know it's She-Hulk calling. We're on good terms." She was put through to hold music as she waited to be connected to the Atlantean royal.
