"Well, that is the worst thing they could say," Jubilee reached up to scratch at her head a little. There was no itch, just a habit she picked up over the years. Despite the risk of hearing no, Jubilee was happy to think about planning to go outside and a lot of those places, that sounded so trivial before, now sounded like a lot of fun. The zoo, who knew?
She nodded to Jono's question about her babysitter. "This guy, I call him Buffy—" because Dr. Bradley called him that and it worked, "—but his name is like...Hannibal Lecter or something. But he's a vampire hunter. He was there when I was bitten, keeps insisting I'm dangerous and am going to go native or whatever. You know, full on vampire and leaving a bunch of blood-drained bodies in my wake." Not that she would, but Hannibal always made her feel like she would.
"He's pretty grouchy," she said, "but I mean, if I am not around other people, and just hanging around some animals at a zoo or goofin' off in a mostly empty theater, that can't be too bad, right?"
