"You don't have blood, do you," Jubilee said as more of a statement and while part of her was disappointed more of her seemed relieved by this revelation. God, she could be in the same room as him and even talk to him, sort of, and not be distracted by stupid things. Stupid things that were now part of her own survival.
She pressed her head against the glass. "I—" she started and then had a hard time finishing. She could tell him to go away, but she was so lonely. Angry and lonely, and she'd been shoving everyone else away. She looked at the guy and bit on her bottom lip softly, the sharp point of the canine pressing hard enough almost to break skin, but not quite. She nodded, "Stay."
Because in the end it was better than being alone in the dark.
