The guy just stood there. Quiet. And Jubilee found herself annoyed even more. Yeah, come to gawk at the vampire. Have your chuckles. She rolled her eyes but then heard a voice in her head. This caused her to pause and she looked at him with curiosity that wasn't fueled by hunger. He was a telepath? Could he talk and chose to use telepathy? Was the turtleneck some weird fashion statement that only guys would get?
She paused and contemplated what he said. He was a mutant. She was a mutant. No, she was a vampire. But she was hoping to be a mutant again. From what she was hearing, she'd lost it. She just needed Nemesis to find it for her again so she could go back. She clenched a fist at the thought and then released it slowly when he asked why she was being kept down here.
"They're scared I might bleed someone dry if I get too hungry," she said with a heavy tone of bitterness to it. She realized how bad it sounded. Like she was some sort of villain and truthfully, nobody treated her that way. They were scared, fascinated, or worried. Sometimes all three. She relaxed a little, "I'm a vampire. They're worried that I might hurt others because of it. Buffy tells them they should put me down. I'm fighting it." But she wasn't sure if she wanted to fight half the time.
