For most people it was after hours at just a little bit past six. But for an attorney, Matt was still on the clock just not in his office. There were times, on occasion, that his work pulled him out from behind his desk to do actual fieldwork and interview clients and witnesses elsewhere. Wherever they wanted, really. It was why he found himself in a bar right then and there, suit and tie still straight, briefcase in hand.
He made his way over to an empty table that ran along the perimeter of the bar. He was suppose to be meeting a witness to discuss a few things before going to trial and couldn't get the time off work. Matt had offered to meet her at her place of employment not realizing then that it was a bar in Hell's Kitchen. So, he did the only thing he really could do: Matt went to the bar. He set up with his briefcase, tape recorder and waited.
He was still a little bit early, so he ordered a beer. What the hell, it was past six, after all.
