Reception: Aftermath: The Happily Married Couple
Without a hitch. Reed was still wary that something, somewhere, sometime, would still go wrong to interrupt this day. Even with time paused and a large majority of the heroes of the world in attendance, he was on the lookout.
Peeking at the device strapped to his wrist that looked like a watch but, as any who knew Doctor Reed Richards, was much more than that, Reed determined, for the umpteenth time, that the time cone was still running perfectly and that the world was still standing without anyone lighting up the 'bat signal' as it were, sending frantic summons for the Four or the X-Men or the Avengers to come save it. Reed let out a breath as he sat in the decorated Fantasti-car and flew them in the direction of their Honeymoon destination.
Antarctica.
"The migration of the Emperor penguins is bound to be fascinating to observe." He said to his wife. His wife, Mrs. Susan Richards. Though he was certain she'd keep the Storm name on. It was appropriate. Her and Johnny's father had done so much for science.
Reed's conversation was a mask for an inexplicable nervousness about their wedding night. He was looking forward to it, but it was of such significance that he couldn't just take it for another night in the arms of the woman who had held his heart for over a decade. It was something more than that. It was the consecration of their marriage.
He cleared his throat a little and looked at the readings of the car as they got high enough in the atmosphere for some truly fantastic speeds. A harmonized hum sounded in the cabin as he engaged the mach levels and turned on auto-pilot for their travel. At this rate, they'd be in Antarctica at the research base in under an hour.
