Who: Maria Hill and Hisako NPCs: Assorted SHIELD agents When: 2/3 (backdate) Where: SHIELD HQ, Firing Range What: Hisako comes in for potential-Avengers powers-testing. Rating: PG Stark's decision to run Avengers Idol had born rather a large amount of fruit, and various logistical headaches for SHIELD. Most of them had died down after the end of the event; the security nightmare was over, and even the fall out from the various crises had been more or less settled by now.
The last one of the actual event, however, was still present; hell if Maria was going to let someone not trained in it fire at anyone else, even if they swore that they were bulletproof. But Stark had chosen the girl as one of his potential Avengers, and so they needed to be sure that she could, in fact, do what she said, before they sent her out into the big bad world to be an Avenger. She may have had training before, but not as far as SHIELD's files was concerned.
So, they'd gotten her contact information and scheduled the appointment, and Maria insisted that she was going to be the one to administer the test. She knew her firearms and was a crack shot, and as such, wasn't inclined to make stupid, careless mistakes or shoot the girl fatally if it turned out that she wasn't as bulletproof as advertised.
And she deserved to have at least one duty she liked, especially on a Friday.
As she waited for the girl - Hisako Ichiki - to finish clearing security and being escorted down to the conventional firing range (stalls and targets rather than the elaborate field-training firing range), Maria got the various pieces of safety gear laid out on one table, and then tended to the armory she'd laid out on the other; SHIELD believed in precautions and very thorough tests.
