She needed a break. Not that Sharon didn't enjoy the company of the Star Spangled Man - quite the contrary, in fact - and maybe that way exactly why she needed to be here, rather than spending this holiday of all holidays in his company.
Besides, they'd just returned from Afghanistan, and would be leaving for Mandripoor soon - she had a lot of paperwork to file before any of those things could be accomplished, and tonight was as good a night as any. Headquarters was sure to be relatively unoccupied, and Sharon was assured relative quite, fresh coffee, and unhindered access to the office equipment.
Unsurprised to see Maria at the helm, again, Sharon shook her head as she passed. "You keep doing this, people are going to think you don't have a life, Sir." Giving Hill a wink and a two-fingered salute, she disappeared into her office briefly before returning with a clipboard, a stack of papers, and a mug of coffee, taking one of the unoccupied stations nearby.
Raising an eyebrow to her superior, she asked, "Unless you're not in the mood for company?" She turned her head toward the monitors as the alert for the phones sounded, curious to know who else was working instead of partying on New Year's Eve.
