Who: Johnny Storm and Peter Parker When 10/30/11 (backdated like woah) Where: In the air and at the Baxter Building What: Johnny rescues Peter, who's in bad shape after his fight with the Green Goblin
Peter hurt. Every part of him hurt. His lungs burned from inhaling gasses, his body hurt from being smashed into building, dropped from the sky, and beaten soundly by Gobby.
But worst of all was his spirit, which was currently all but crushed to a bloody pulp by the fact that he had been unmasked by his mortal enemy in battle. Peter laughed, the sound high and thin. Could you even call someone your mortal enemy if they weren't, in fact, the same person whom your actual mortal enemy had been? He had certainly seemed to think that he was the original Green Goblin, but that was impossible. Wasn't it?
The light was shining behind his eyes again. Peter hadn't realized he'd closed them. Opening them up, he realized he was looking up into the face of Johnny Storm, and the urge to laugh returned, much stronger than before. He succumbed to it, tittering madly. Of all the people who could have saved him, it had to have been some kind of miracle that Johnny had been in the neighborhood right when Peter had been about to die.
Johnny who, besides Felicia, was the only person on earth that knew the face beneath Spider-man's mask.
Understanding for the first time that he was safe (for now), and that he was not dead, or about to die, Peter closed his eyes again. Allowing himself a weak smile, he murmured, "My hero."
