Karolina wasn't a big talker (though if Chase and her got going, they could talk for a long time), but America made Lina feel like a chatterbox. The answers were simple and to the point. Single syllables a majority of the time. It was interesting, to say the least, and Gert couldn't get a good read on her. It was likely that Gert would be the one who would take the longest to determine if she liked someone or not and the jury was still out on this girl. Lina seemed to like her enough to introduce her to the rest of them in what was a copier environment than school or a random lunch.
The group were really all each other had. Their parents gone and each of them taking on some sort of role to fit a balance they somehow maintained. Unlikely friends united through strange circumstances. Gert watched as Lina went to share a hug with Nico and then Chase suggested video games.
"We're almost done with the food," Gert informed, "Just whatever Lina is left cooking. You could help set the table unless you want to play games with Chase. Though I think Molly is looking for a rematch, Chase, so watch out. She's been training." There was a smirk that appeared on her face, the piercings tugging a little from the movement.
