Alex just let Scott talk. He wanted to hear what he had to say, whether or not he cared what it actually was, he needed to hear him try to explain himself. His eyes stayed focused on the side of the road as the truck was driven along and when it pulled off and parked he looked up to see the old shop. His eyebrows pushed together in confusion before he finally looked at Scott.
"First of all, I can go where I want with who I want. You don't get a say in any of that. Secondly, I'm not some helpless little kid. Remy was with me and he knows the city perfectly well, so we got along fine there."
He sat up from the slouch he'd assumed as soon as he'd gotten in and buckled up. "I didn't need you to suddenly show up with Professor Logan like you're my dad so come collect me. I don't need a brother to suddenly be there when I'm doing things that don't fit his mold for me."
He was so exhausted with being what other people wanted him to be. "I'm my own person, Scott! I'm free now to be whoever the hell I want to be and you or anyone else isn't going to tell me who to be or what to do."
He raised his voice in his frustration and when he finished he considered getting out of the truck and walking back to the school but he gathered his restraint enough to not be the teenager he'd just proclaimed he wasn't.
