Characters: Open To Reactions NPCs: Erik Lensherr/Magneto Timeline: April 18, 2012 Location: Televisions around the globe! Description: "He's Magneto, he's like a honey badger. He doesn't give a shit if you were watching the finale of your favorite show, what he has to say is more important." ~ Chrissie Rating: PG-13
At 8:00PM New York Time, televisions began to cut out and Magneto appeared on the screen all across the globe. This was starting to become a regular occurrence but Magneto's message was hardly routine. The man was frustrated. And perhaps a bit impatient. Things weren't working out, exactly, the way he planned. And he was hoping for a quicker union with the world's super powers and not having to force his hand. Yet he was going to do whatever it took to see that Asteroid M was declared sovereign territory. After a long moment, he began:
"Good evening, citizens of the world, human and mutant alike, It is with great regret that I sit before you, but at time I feel I have no choice.
"I have hoped for more cooperation from the World Trade Federation, the United Nations, the EU and the United States, but it seems as if you have been all to quick to cut us off and have refused trade and negotiations with the island state of Asteroid M.
"I was not born with the gift for gab, nor the patience for small talk. So, I beg each and every one of your pardons for what I am about to say next and the blunt manner in which I say it.
"It is at this time I would like to inform you all that we have nuclear weapons and that we are a nuclear power. We have advanced missiles and we are not afraid to use them. But make no mistake. It is not my wish that this happen.
"What I am asking for is reaffirmation of political commitment at the highest levels - all the heads of government by now should have received my treaty. Accept my terms - declare Asteroid M sovereign and enter into trade with our country and the threat of nuclear war goes to zero. Do not recognize that this is so and the threat remains.
"I implore you all, citizens of the world, write to your presidents and your congressmen, to your parliaments, so on and so forth do not turn your backs on the mutant race."
And with that the missive cut off and televisions around the globe resumed their normal programing.
