Howard Stark Dies in Car Accident

NEW YORK CITY, NY — Yesterday evening, the body of Howard Stark of Stark Industries and all subsidiaries was recovered from his car, after it failed to gain control at a high speed. Eyewitnesses of the event claim that the car slid into traffic after failing to stop at a traffic light and swerved until it collided with an electrical pole that collapsed on top of the car. Reports say that the car was moving at a high speed and the collapse of the pole, crushing the top of the car. Stark was pronounced dead at the scene from severe trauma. Stark was wearing a seatbelt at the time of his death. Forensic scientists are working to determine the cause of the accident and a toxicology test is in process.

The police commissioner stated, "Until toxicology reports come in, there is no reason to suspect that he was under the influence. The lab tests are a formality that we always take into consideration when a car is reported to have lost control. We suspect that there may have been some sort of malfunction in the car, so until our investigation is complete and deems otherwise, we must rule this an unfortunate accident. Our condolences are extended to his family and friends during this difficult time and we assure them that we are doing everything in our power to discover what happened."

Stark Industries has been placed into the hands of Obadiah Stane and the investors of Stark Industries for the time being as outlined in the company's policy until Mr. Stark's will has been read to parties named in it and those affairs are handled. Stark's funeral will be on February 5, 2015. It is expected to be a large event due to his work with both the United States Military and numerous charity organizations.
