Jane would have been more than content to sit outside and wait as long as Pietro came back with information. She actually looked surprised when he switched to English and suggested they search her. She wouldn't have cared if they did, but it just hadn't been expected. The mention of them going in without permission had caused her gaze to shift from between the men to Pietro specifically.
Then one of the men knocked on the door. Next he spoke in English. While his voice was a little more foreboding than she'd liked, she could not help but almost sigh in relief. He could wake up. That was something, drugged or not, he could regain consciousness. That was short lived as she caught sight of him through the opened door. Her hands came up to cover her mouth. Time felt like it slowed down and she hadn't realized her breathing had sped up. She was starting to feel a little dizzy.
This wasn't good, she needed to compose herself before going inside. She took a few good deep breaths before murmuring a thanks to the men who allowed her entry, and moved to go inside.
She was afraid to touch him. He looked worse than she thought he would. She didn't know what kind of expectations she was having on a person who had survived an explosion, but this was definitely not it. "Victor," she breathed quietly as if the sound of her voice would hurt him. He was alive and looked stable-ish? This was stable, right? The machine was beeping steadily. "What happened?" She wasn't expecting an answer, but they hadn't had a chance to look over the lab either.
