Subject: Capture the Flag

Alright team. You've been working hard through the practices for the upcoming capture the flag challenge. Good job, but you ain't out of the woods yet. As I've said before, we asked unbiased outside help to build the course and set the day and time for the game and we've just received word that it is complete and it set for this Saturday 10/18 at 7pm. This means we got time for a final run through. I want to see you all at the Xavier School's Danger Room tomorrow 10/17 at 4pm. This will be a very real run through and should be treated as the real deal. Because of this, you will be suited in your gear that ~~Dr Noodle Spine~~ Richards has provided. I have not seen the actual course myself and so this practice will include multiple possible scenarios to test each team members individual abilities as well as our cohesiveness as a unit.

Imperius Rex will be using the Danger Room for their own training after us, so we're going to make our time in there successful because we ain't coming out of that room with fear in our eyes. We've got a great team here and I don't just say things to watch my own breath. I mean it.

I will be available today after classes for the rest of the day for some one on one training. I strongly suggest each of you take this opportunity to work out your kinks so that our team practice tomorrow can be that much more successful. Don't let your team members down by choosing to be lazy.

This is a mandatory team run through. My job here is to prepare you for the real world and the real world consists of winning and losing. There's no 'just getting by' on my watch because that's never going to be what life hands you lot. It'll demand from you and you can try to run from it, but it will find you and force you to act. Or you can stand your ground, quit whining that you're being forced to miss out on socializing in schools that were established for you to be ready for life, and be prepared to face whatever the hell will be thrown at you in your futures.

If anyone prefers to run they can come talk to me after classes today in the Danger Room. I'll be there all night.

Well at least we're doing this for a life lesson and not because some teacher challenged us to a grudge match.

I'm sorry, sir, but I don't see how asking for the time parameters of tomorrow's team run through is indicative of any of us trying to "just get by". I'll be out there for the challenge and all training sessions giving 110%. As I have been.

Putting it bluntly, I just didn't think it was right for Elektra to publicly call out Johnny for a lack of commitment when he's been there for training the same as anybody else.

Personally think it's good to value the honor of something you've attached your name to. Shows loyalty and a level of trust that doesn't come easy.

As for the rest, what this team has been giving in practices has been good. There would have been no unexpected practice for this had the time of the challenge been known. But because it is important to be prepared, we asked that we not be made aware of it too long in advance.

We're ready to take this on and one more run will prove that to the team and solidify our unity. The most important thing here is that we feel like we're a team and let that be our advantage.

Seeing as I will not be part of the team during the challenge, there will be a Captain and Co-Captain assigned for it.

	I was unaware that the people of Earth were so weak. Is there the possibility of joining the opposing team? Perhaps they will not cower in the face of such a simple ~~idiotic~~ task such as this. I don't think we can hold them to an unscheduled practice, Logan. They're students and some of them have jobs. Jen is the Student Body President, for example.They have other worries and responsibilities. I do agree that the training team will help them in futures, but New Wave isn't the X-Men. Life and death and mutant rights aren't on the line.

I just think you're being a little severe to a group of kids who, in large part, have a biggest fear of not being asked to Prom. They're working very hard for you already and if they decide not to participate in the training or the challenge itself, I don't think they should be made to feel like failures.

This is why I didn't like the idea of this competition. The teams are for growing stronger, not who wins or who loses. I know my opinion is not a popular one ~~to you--~~ among the other staff leaders, but it stands.

Good to know where you stand, Richards. You telling me you don't think these kids stand a chance out there? You want me to quit pushing them and let them live in a fluffy world where they aren't expected to go beyond what they think they're capable of?

I'm all about them enjoying their childhood while they can. Prom; no prom. I don't give a damn what they decide to do. But this is about preparing them for possible futures and I sure as hell won't let any kid that I feel responsible for to step foot out of graduation and not be ready for the world. It ain't my job to teach them job skills or mathematical application. That ain't my area of expertise. So I'm going to teach them what I know and I sure as hell ain't going to let you stop that.

You can be a pansy about this and worry about hurting their feelings; I'm going to help them learn something practical.

~~That's not what I--~~ It wasn't my intent to demean your efforts or intentions with them, Logan. I know you mean them well. I just think there are better, more efficient ways of going about training that are beneficial for all invovled and still bring desirable results. Your methods are drastically different than a rudimentary high school team and while these students may have super powers, they're still only teenagers.

I'm just worried that we may be pushing them too far.
