So this was what the inside of the MDC past the Visitor's Area looked like, Alex wasn't sure what he'd been expecting, but he was pretty sure he'd lived through worse, especially if what Scott and Emma were saying was true. Sure, he was in a disgusting shade of orange, collared and watched, but then he'd had Mr. Milbury and nothing could really top that.
Besides, it wasn't like he'd had any other option. He had nowhere else to go and he knew running wouldn't solve anything so he'd taken the control away, handed himself over and faced his fate head on. He'd been afraid, of this exact moment, but now that he was here he was beginning to think what there was to be afraid of because ultimately he'd made his choice.
To point blank refuse to register and face the consequences.
He hadn't said goodbye to anyone or allowed anybody to comment on his entry because Alex was stubborn, he'd made up his mind and he wasn't going to let anybody talk him out of it. Even if to them it seemed like the most stupid move. To Alex? It made sense. Besides, mutants didn't need any more bad press, especially as if he lost control then he could in fact hurt or kill a lot of people. He didn't think he'd be able to live with that on his conscience, not now and not ever.
Scott was doing this to make some sort of point on his crusade to save the world, but Alex? Well, he just wanted to take control. All his life somebody else had been in control, stripping his ability to be in charge and make the decisions, but not with this. This was his decision, nobody else's. It didn't matter how many people did or didn't register Alex made his choice with his gut and he was following it through, for better or worse.
Currently it was worse, but hopefully life would pick up.
The food was most definitely not going to be doing that anytime soon, but beggars couldn't be choosers. Alex tugged on his pierced ear before he helped himself to a forkful, clear blue eyes watching the movement of the cafeteria around him.
