Description: Quentin and Remy work together again, this time instead of diamonds from Tiffany, they're stealing mutant nullification collars directly from the police.
Rating: PG-13
When you were a professional thief and your friend was an illusionist, the most natural thing to do was combine forces and pull amazing heists. This one would be their best one yet. Even had Shaw not told him to bring back a collar, he might have tried it anyway, just to see if it could be done. There were many jobs that Remy looked forward to attempting one day, but robbing directly from the one place he didn't want to go anywhere near was pretty high up there.
Gambit had met with Quentin and the two had formulated a plan together. It was risky, and it required a lot of trust, especially on Remy's part, but in the end, both of them had something to lose if the other went back on their word and betrayed the other. That was how their friendship had started, and sometimes, like now as Quentin and Remy walked into the police station, it was the only thing keeping the thief from breaking out of the cuffs that clasped his wrists and doing his own sort of disappearing act.
"You can't just go and arrest someone yourself!" Even his accent was gone, a trick he'd been taught from the Thieves Guild to pull off things like this more convincingly. It also helped that, with Quentin's help, Remy's eyes appeared to be a very normal and very human earthy brown. The black and red of his mutation was hidden. "I didn't steal your wallet, man. I was just walking by and someone put it in my pocket. Hey! Hey, officer! Help me! This guy is crazy!" Remy called out to the nearest police officer as they stepped into the bustling police station.
He was in a black suit, bow tie undone and hanging from the collar and champagne spilled on the lapel across the shoulder. His dark hair might have been gelled and styled for some big party that would call for a nice suit, and also fancy drinks, but now it was falling free and Remy tipped a little to one side. Booze had that effect on people.
