Description: Sofia writes a note to Tabitha.
Rating: PG
Sofia didn't like starting things off on the right foot. She knew that the other girl was being a bit rude, but she should've been nicer about it, and also more understanding. So she decided to clear the air, hopefully, in some respect and keep the tension out. They were all mutants and the last thing she wanted was some bad blood over a little miscommunication. When she had some indoor rec time, she wrote out a note and she very politely spoke to one of the guards, asking if she could leave a note for Tabitha. Apparently being polite was enough for this one guard and he let her.
The note was left on Tabitha's bed along with any mail she might have gotten. It was different from the others, seeing that there was no stamp or anything, and it was addressed to Tabitha just by her first name and it said it was from "Sofia, the girl with the accent." Whether or not Tabitha wanted to read it was up to her, but Sofia figured she'd at least try.
If Tabitha did decide to read the note, she would read the following:
Tabitha, I am sorry that we did not start off on the right leg. I would like us to be friends and I hope we can put our first encounter into the past. There is a lot I have to learn about American customs and the differences between what people consider appropriate or reasonable. Can we please try again? I am Sofia Mantega. I was not born in America, but Venezuela. I have been in America for less than two years, and while I can write English well, I have trouble speaking it at times. If I say anything that sounds strange or wrong, please feel free to help me fix that. What sort of things do you like to do? Where are you from? What are your powers? I can move air around. I've used it to levitate and also can carry sound. I would show you how that works, but with this collar, I cannot. Sincerely, Sofia P.S. Ths Spanish television shows (they are called telenovelas) are actually more ridiculous than they seem. If you ever want a translation to what they say, I can tell you. :) |
