Characters: Mysterio & OPEN to Reactions NPCs: New York City Residents Location: 30 Rock Plaza Timeline: Christmas Eve [Backdated] Description: Mysterio gives New York the ghost of Christmas yet to come. Rating: PG-13
The 30 Rockefeller Center Plaza was the place in New York City to go ice skating. The huge rink had been set up. Hundreds of thousands of people came through every single day and the massive Christmas tree lit up the plaza like a big festive beacon of hope, happiness, good tidings and peace on Earth and good will towards men and blah blah blah! That is what ran through Quentin's mind as he stepped out into the plaza, casting off his long violet cape. It flapped in the winter breeze and fluttered behind him. Damn that had to have been awesome. He should really set up cameras next time to catch his awesomeness in all its glory. After all, those police cams never got his good side.
A few people that recognized Mysterio from the newspapers screamed and made a run for it. Other tourists laughed and pointed at the man in the green suit, purple cape and big domed helmet. Some stared on in confusion. It didn't last long through, the silence and the peace. Quentin raised his arms and a booming voice came from the dome...as well as every speaker in the plaza. The Christmas music on the PA system scratched to a halt as Mysterio's deep booming voice now echoed throughout the plaza.
"Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas New York City! Tis I! The great and powerful Mysterio!" As he spoke, slowly the masked villain began to rise off the ground, hovering every so slightly as green smoke billowed around his feet.
"Hear me! For I bear a vision of the future!" He waves his hand, purple jolts of electricity crackling between his fingers.
"You see...this city now has its hero. It's villain! But when I came to call on All Hollow's Eve, where was your hero? Your Spider-Man!? I come to you now, and still he is not here! Tis proof that this city belongs to the great Mysterio! So heed this vision of Christmas yet to come, good people! Mysterio is going nowhere!"
The Great Mysterio raised his arm, pointing his finger at the great Christmas tree. It suddenly erupted in a flood of bats, crows, snakes with wings and flying monkeys. Of course these were all holograms triggered by the dozens of holo-cubes Quentin had dropped in the snow around the tree the evening before. People screamed and ran, women trying to cover their hair, hiding from the fake bats and flying monkeys. Mysterio bellowed a laugh and turned, tugging his long purple cape around him, and vanished.
Actually, Quentin just snuck away in the confusion, under his invisibility cloak and hid in a nearby store, removed the costume in the dressing room, packed it up into a backpack, ran out into the mass of screaming people, screamed and ran off to the nearest subway station,
