This wasn’t the first challenge that had been planned, but the original had been scrapped in light of recent events. It seemed that these kids could never catch a break and instead of focusing on something more intense, the staff of the two schools had decided it be prudent for a more light, fun-filled adventure that would promote getting to know one another as well as team-building.
Their objectives this time around would be easy. New York served as a backdrop for many movies. Simply find a place where a movie took place, reenact a scene from the movie and film it on location using one of the provided hand held camcorders. This truly was one of those tasks that could be as simple or as complicated as the team wanted, with extra points awarded, obviously, to more the more elaborate and thoughtful of the films.
They had until midnight to research their films, script out what they wanted to do, and then go about filming it. At the end of the night there would be a midnight viewing of each film with refreshments provided.
Rules:
1.) Everyone must appear on screen at least at least once.
2.) Length must be between 3-15 minutes
3.) Include a link to a video of the original scene, or write a description if it's not easily available.
4.) Filming should occur in New York City, not at either school.
5.) Credit everyone who helps with the movie.
6.) Film must be submitted by Midnight, September 30, 2012
7.) 25 Points total. 20 Points are awarded for following the rules, having a recognizable scene, and creativity. 5 Points are awarded for "uniqueness." If you are the only team that selected that movie, you get all 5 points. For each team that picks the same movie you did, it is reduced by one point for a minimum of 0.
